Nottingham City Council will soon be carrying out planned road resurfacing work on Sneinton Dale.

The work will be taking place from the junction of Trent Road and Edale Road and will begin on Tuesday 15 August and is expected to take around 20 days to complete between the hours of 8am and 16pm Monday to Friday each day. The work has been timed to take place during the school holidays when there is less traffic on the roads to keep disruption at a minimum.

To enable the road works to be carried out safely, Sneinton Dale will be closed to through traffic and there will be parking restrictions. The council will ensure that residents always have access to their homes, although there may be short delays.

During working hours Nottingham City Transport Services 43 (Red line) will not stop on Sneinton Dale and will instead divert along Carlton Road and Cardale Road but normal services will resume during the evenings

Councillor Sally Longford, Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhood Services and Local Transport, said: “This scheme forms part of the City Council’s highway maintenance programme and the work being carried out will ensure that Sneinton Dale continues to be safe for all road users. We would like to thank people for their patience while works are carried out on our roads.

“Nottingham has one of the best integrated transport systems in the UK and proactive road maintenance works like this play a vital part in keeping the traffic moving, making roads safer and improving journey times. This is important for drivers, businesses and public transport.”

During the Sneinton Dale road resurfacing works the Easylink service will be available for citizens who are in possession of either the disabled concessionary card or senior concessionary card.

The service operates fully accessible mini buses which are designed to take up to 8 passengers or 2 wheelchairs and 2 passengers at once. The drivers are fully trained and can help you on to the bus or to your door where it’s safe to do so.

It’s easy to book by calling 0115 969 1801. All trips will be paid for by the City Council during the works.”
